Spot just peed on the floor at the opening of the litter box?  He never does
this--none of them do.  Should I be concerned?  He is a tall-long cat--so I
had to get one of those 'walk in' extra-large littler boxes with a dome lid.
I think he was half way in and didn't realize it??

You could tell he was a bit shocked--we alll heard him pee'ing the floor.
Girly and George ran into the bathroom to see what was happening.  By time I
got in there they were all looking at me with wide-eyes and like WTF?  And, I
could tell Spot was a bit embarassed too and he wasn't sure how to clean it
up--so I got toilet paper and cleaned it up with him watching me--and when he
wasn't around I used cleaner to finish cleaning.

None of them are picky about litter boxes and we have never had an accicent--
besides Spot regurgatation about 2-3 xs a week.  None of them get prissy if I
fall behind in scooping it out--so I don't think it is a behavior thing.  He
has been sleeping all day on the bed like he usually does and Girly and
George haven't been chasing him nearly as much.

The urine was clear and bright yellow--no cloudiness or strong odor--so I
don't think it is a UTI.

Spot is my special guy--has dental issues, anal blood drippage when he gets
stressed, regurgatation, and isn't big on being petted, etc.  When my son was
little and he said he was sick--it meant he was running a 104 temp.--I have
that same feeling with Spot.

Spot is 5.5 yrs. old.

HHMM..I dont' mean to be dramatic--but this is so out of character and like I
said--Spot does grab my attention when something goes on.

Thanks,
Jen

I'd second that. Especially if it should happen a second time. Better
safe than sorry, especially since UTIs can be so uncomfortable for them.

I think his butt was just accidentally hanging out.  Vino does this
sometimes.  Pretty rare, maybe once a year.  I think he's just not
careful.  Sometimes he will try to fling litter from the box out onto
the pee to cover it up, what a sweetheart :-)

Purrs that it was just an accident.

Thank you all.  He hasn't had anymore accidents and seems to be fine.  Good!

Thanks,
Jen, Spot, George, and Girly
