This is exactly what I hoped would not happen. I was careful to get all
her vaccinations and boosters right on schedule because I hoped it
would help her not get sick down there. I'm afraid not having mother's
milk she didn't have enough immunity. She has a bad URI. There are
several of them with it and they being treated but she is by far the
worst. I just wanted to take her back home so bad but I can't afford to
expose the other cats, esp. Yoda. So I guess mostly out of guilt I went
out and bought Fancy Feast so at least she would eat enough. (she loves
Fancy Feast). Then of course I couldn't buy Fancy Feast just for her
and have her eating in front of the other sick cats in the quarantine
room so I bought eight cases of the stuff. I'll worry about the
checkbook later. :-)
Right now I am really worried about her. I would really appreciate good
thoughts, prayers and purrs.

Many purrs for Angel.
Kumani got a bad flu in April of 2004 and had to spend 4 days on IV.
Maybe it was because...well, we presume she got mother's milk until we
found her at approx 3 weeks but...that's still not a lot of milk.

Yes, she is still there. About the time she went, there was an awful
influx of kittens. Same old, too many kittens, not enough homes deal.
Here is her Petfinders picture. I noticed the description is missing. I
don't know if they took it off because she is sick or what. I need to
call and find out.

Pfft. Anybody who knows me knows I don't care anything about money.
That's why I'll probably be a bag lady someday.
It's the emotional investment. I raised that cat on a bottle. I was her
mama.

That's right LLL (aka Karma) don't let the negatives get you, and if
they do, just pop some pills and follow it up with some booze, a few
weeks in detox and your body will be clean enough to start the process
all over again.
Nice pattern you have going there, detox every 6 months, no wonder Joe
wants out.

You can't really get Fancy Feast for one without getting it for all...
When Kumani was sick the vet said feed her whatever she would eat...so
she went back to eating Iams kitten food for a while, never mind that
she was an adult cat who usually eats Hills or Medi-Cal. Iams was the
only thing she would touch.

And a "prescription" diet won't do a cat any good if he/she
won't EAT it! Cat's have their own (very stubborn) likes
and dislikes, which don't always agree with a vet's notion
of what's good for them. And some cats seem willing to
actually STARVE, rather than eat something they don't like.
I had one who was visibly losing weight, but STILL
refused to eat the food the vet prescribed - what was I to
do? (Fortunately, that vet understood cats better than some
seem to, and agreed that any food was better than none at
all, so the cat got its way, and promptly gained back the
weight it had lost.)

no Adrian, I'm in your killfile cause I called you all a bunch of
ostrich's which has proven itself time and again, when one of your
groups says something you all disagree with everyone goes mum, when
another who's not in your group says it, its a free-for-all.

Where do all these low-lives like Trish and Charlie Wilkes

To be considered low life by your ilk is a compliment, beats being a

I'm sorry she has to go through this, but I'll bet she comes through

I hated it when our kittens got URI, so hard to see, but a week later
and everyone was playing with toys and eating again. I'll hope the same

A whole bunch of purrs, doggy-wags, and good thoughts coming her
way. Soothing purrs for you too.
BTW, our Speckles had a bad kidney-function test and was put on K/D.
She refused outright to touch the stuff. Same with all the senior
foods, IAMs, etc. She would literally starve rather than barely sniff
the stuff. Put her back on her beloved Fancy Feast exclusively and
her latest checkup put her kidneys in the normal range. Maybe FF
didn't help but it sure didn't hurt.
Kudos to you for helping out. Hugs.

JB, that's what I was thinking. I know prescription food is better for
a sick cat. But not if they don't eat it. I think the most important
thing is that they eat *something*. Most cats just don't turn down FF.
