My errands sometimes take me to a lovely street where there happen to
be a lot of businesscats.
So today I saw: Mr. Tea, a bashful white fellow, who lives in the
coffee/tea shop;
Reggie, the sweet-faced, giant orange smurgler;
Henry, the snowshoe, who likes to climb to the awning above the store
entrance, and look down on the lesser beings;
And finally, the Stripey Boys, who live in the copy shop, and who are
just clowns. I must have mentioned the before, but to review, they are
a pair of tabby brothers with white bibs and mittens, who look like
they are wearing matching striped sweaters. They have pink noses, and
the most adorable pale green eyes which slant up, and they are VERY
friendly. As in, they will casually climb up on your shoulder and
stick their whiskers in your face while you are standing at the
counter, and be all like "Hey, how ya doin'? This isn't a problem, is
it? Didn't think so." ;)
Today they were enchanted with my canvas tote bag (I had made a trip
to the library), and the drawstring with the knots on the ends. Fatty
decided that this must die, and of course, Skinny decided that Fatty
must die rather than kill the string first, so there was a bit of a
skirmish.
Then Skinny decided that what was important must be IN the bag, so of
course, he climbed right in. And there was no way Fatty was going to
put up with Skinny being in there with his butt sticking out, and his
tail waving around, so he attacked, and before I knew it-- yes, there
were the front ends of TWO stripey fiends in my bag, along with the
LeCarre, doing Lucha Libre and Gawd know what else. It was a sight.
They are amiable boys, though, so it really wasn't a problem getting
them out. But I kept having daydreams of being stopped for shoplifting
two good-sized stripey monsters. ;)

I'll *ALWAYS* stop to talk to a cat - and usually, they'll talk back.
My brother says I have a cat radar, and can find even the most
camouflaged animal :-)
