I have two cats, Nemo and Kipper. They are currently slightly past 1
year. My parents have said that we should feed them a little extra since
they play with each other. (In other words, Nemo's normal food amount plus
a little extra, and kipper's normal food amount plus a little extra.) They
say that they need the extra energy because there playing with each other.
I say no, because they probably would play the same amount if they were
seperated, just not with each other. What do you think?

Also, I was wondering if cats could be trained to eat out of thier own
bowls and not the other cat's, and if so, how, and how easily.

Feeding "a little extra" than what is recommended is a sure way for them to
have a weight problem in the future.

Try clapping your hands together when you catch them and say "no"! and then
switch them back to where they're supposed to be.  If done continuously, they
may start to realize that they should be eating out of their own bowls
(hopefully).

My cats that live together all feed out of the same bowl of dry food and all
do very well, with a good size bowl of water they have no troubles at all.
