Animals do amazing thing. Years ago I had one of my cats a kitten at the
time got trapped behind a dresser all the other cats went nuts running
back and forth till one of us came to investigate. When we stopped and
looked around they keep jumping up and down going to the spot and looking
down coming over to us and caterwauling till we looked behind the dresser
I have seen a when I was a teenager a untrained dog jump into a raging
river and swim out to a swimmer in danger of drowning and started pulling
him in before anyone could respond.
A cat pushing a button to save his slave I can see it I believe it specially
the ones I have now know how to open child proof locks. Just because a cat
does not show he or she is pay attention doesn't me they aren't watching

Not unlikely the cat did it. There was a story awhile back about a
disabled woman in Miami. She had epilepsy but was also confined to
wheelchair for MS (?). She had a Rottweiler as a companion dog.
Apparently she had a seizure and fell out of the wheelchair. The dog
had been specially trained to go to the phone, knock the receiver off
hook, and when he heard the dial tone, he woukd press 911 with his
nose. This gave the dispatcher the location. A response crew would
arrive at the woman's residence, where te dog was also trained in
opening the door for them.
Why not? Everyone knows cats are smarter than Rottweilers!

Hell cats are smarter than us look at what we do for them all day all they
do is eat sleep ( with bathroom breaks ) and watch us.
Ain't it great to be owned by a cat

Your post made me go look for the cat story, and it turns
out the cat may have speed-dialed too!

Yes the cat was being trained to push a button to dial 911 the owner did not
think Tommy the cat caught on to the training
