New Kitten to keep my cat company?

I just got a 14 week old kitten in October (he is 6 months old now) and my
husband wants another (female) kitten to keep him company. We work a lot and
the cat is home alone a lot. Is is true that cats like other cats to keep
them company or would they prefer to be on their own. (This is my first cat
ever so I don't know much about cats... sorry).

Yes get your furball a companion they will enjoy the company just make sure
you introduce them slowly after they have their vaccinations and test
