We got our kitten almost a year ago at the humane society, and I will be
honest we didn't know much about cats when we got her. We certainley did
not train her right (ie,putting her in a cage) and we let her roam the
house immediatly. We never had any seriousproblems with her, just biting
and scratching. But her behaviour the past couple months has gotten
completley unbearable, and I don't know what to do. She throws things off
of book cases or tables (she's broken tons of glasses) and she bites, you
can't pick her up because she attacks. We can't even trim her nails
because she goes so crazy when we try to pick her up. Can anyone tell me
what I should do now? Is it too late to start retraining her?

I think she is plain bored. I would try with a cat companion for her - a
neutered male kitten. Assuming that she is neutered herself - otherwise
this would be the first thing to do.
