Cats do love to lick!  It would take a lot of licking to hurt her
tongue.  My current cats don't seem to be that interested in licking
me.  It feels like being licked by sandpaper, but doesn't break the
skin.  They used to bite (gently!) too, but appear to have gotten over
it.  Except for Blackie, the momma cat who got carried away trying to
grab some spaghetti out of my fingers.  I wondered why I was bleeding!
Her teech are very sharp!  That was the first time in a long time I'd
been bitten hard enough to make me bleed.
