squirrels in the attic

I have squirrels inthe attic.What do I need to do to get rid of them?

One of our cat catches and eats squirrels - the red ones. Beats me how,
since they seem to be rocket-powered...

Maybe you need one like her? ;-)

Your local animal shelter may have a humane trap you can borrow. Bait
it with peanut butter. Release the squirrel(s) away from your home.
This may take more than one try before you get them all, but you need
to find out how they are getting in and block their method of ingress.
Squirrels can be extremely destructive to wood, so I suggest you cover
the hole with wire screening.
