I think it is an extremely sad situation. The dog must have been
jealous of the cat. You need to make sure that you show lots of
affection to the cat.
Not sure if it is possible, but maybe contact cats homes to see if they
have any kittens that have lost their mother and maybe you could pair
them together.

And to the dog too, as hartbreaking as it seems.
If he *is* jealous of the cat, there must be a reason...
and only much love will change his mind for the best.

That's a good and very clever idea !
Or if you could find some kittens that people can't
(or don't want to) keep...

Yes, I would have done it in anger and was irational after reading
initial post. But I would not have been happy with the dog :(
if only the dog was secured by some sort of fence to prevent this
tragedy. But if you try the idea of matching (good idea) be
careful. The mother could take it the wrong way and attack the new
kittens.
