Have a persistant Tom coming into garden and conservatory, annoying my
female cat. Would a chemical spray help keep him out, or would it drive my
cat away? Any suggestions.

Blood and bone around the garden is believed to keep cats away but that
would also affect your own cat, so get a cat trap and deal with him as you
please.

Is your cat spayed?  If not then you are going to have a continuing problem
with the tom every time your cat comes on heat.
