Purring: what exacty causes the sound, and what exactly does it
signify, emotionally. My own cat doesn't like being held or cuddled
very much, yat you can hear him purring while he is simultaneously
trying to escape from the cuddler's clutch! Surely he can't be
contented and aggravated at the same time, can he?!

Thanks

Ricky, I have a friend that works at an Emer.Vet clinic.  She says that a
cat will purr when he is happy and content, but will also purr when in pain
or stressed.  She sees many cats that have injuries and they purr then
also.  Hope this helps.
