Our neighbor lady 74 years old, has about 8 cats. Most of them are
outdoor cats and come over and  pee under our front porch, our back deck
oir wherever they like. It stinks so bad and we don't know what we can
do about it. HELP!
We doon't want  to cause problems with the lady as she is a sweetheart
and those cats are all she has. However the smell gets to us and any one
coming over here. Is there any suggestions for sprays or something to
deter these cats?  There is at least 3-4 that frequent our place.

Thank You

Invest in a good water pistol.

... or pump pellet gun. Just a few pumps and they think twice about
peeing there again. I'm not cruel, I have 3 cats. A few pumps will just
sting. Is there something there that makes them mark "their" territory?

I don't know what would make them want to mark their terrritoy at our
place other than there being so many of them at their house. We have no
animals and both porch and deck are new last summer . No clue

If you have a garden, lay down blood & bone around.    Cats apparently hate
the smell.

The other option is to trap and remove them.

For a time I had a problem (not quite the same as yours) with a feral spraying the gate, bbq cover and front door. This was problem was remedied by putting vinegar into a spray bottle and then spraying these areas. It took a few days of spraying, but it worked

wow love the colours

a bottle of hot pepper sauce and a pistol grip sprayer will fix it.
make sure no animals are nearby when you spray it.

the cats are trying to mark out a territory.
well the males anyway

wash the area out with washing soda and dish soap

a good idea is consider using that space to make a compost for old leaves and stuff from the kitchen. a much better idea actually. it tends to stink like a forest.

not so bad

sprays are not such a good idea
old leaves and lawn clippings and those things that roam the back of the fridge, do have some use to them. and they will really help your garden.

Well I told my neighbour to get herself a water bottle and to spray my cats if they kept coming into her yard and doing the same thing, and she only had to use it once and they stopped doing it after that ;-)

The best solution (one which someone did somewhat suggest I believe) is to use bloodmeal, available at some greenhouses or gardening places.  It deters other critters as well as cats: they find it repellent.  It is also good for the soil. *smile*

Trap and take them away?  Why would someone suggest that after you said you didn't want to cause any problems with your neighbours. Tsk.

I would try the bloodmeal......check local greenhouses or gardening suppliers.

Good luck!
