I guess my question would be who really knows what a Mouse taste like
except for a cat?

My hubby asks that question often.  Guess no one has any idea what "mouse"
would taste like.

I guess you right.
I was thinking it has perhaps something to do with it' size.
Farming them and making into food seem like lots of work :)
Especially when try to de-bone it :)

Some ideas :

- the cat food business is control by mice
- no people to catch mice and canned them
- the best substitute would not replace the original product
- cats would not be hunting mice but sit in front of the shops
- no the smell of mice attracts the cat but the chase after it

Vet told me that if cat was larger it would not hunt mice but larger
animals. It goes according to proportions and the chase is the kick
they get not the mouse in particular as first choice for lunch, there is
also some allergies in many cats which eat mice and the instinct for hunting
could disappear.

Damn, it bothered me for long time. Now have satisfuctory info :)

Most all of them ARE mouse flavored...   mice taste like chicken..
Its simply a marketing idea they aren't using yet.

If you don't believe me, cook one up and you won't be able to tell the
difference

Actually, they taste like squirrel.  Another rat with a bushy tail.
