I am desperate! I have the sweetest 8 year old cat in the world and love
him dearly but he will not urinate in his litter box all of the time. He
always uses the box for bowel movements and occasionally to urinate. When
he was 4 his urinary tract crystalized and he spent 1 week in the
hospital. Since then, he refuses to use the box to urinate all of the
time and instead goes on "throw" rugs throughout my house. I've bought
new rugs and within 1 day, he urinates on them also. I've shampooed,
sprayed with "Stay Away" spray and no luck. I'm at my wits end. I love
him dearly but cannot keep this up! HELP!!!

Have a second litter tray. Some cats prefer to pee and poo is separate boxes.

I have found this true. esp. with male cats

Signature
I'm going to Mars. Land's cheap and they got golf carts.

Sounds like a good idea to me too. While my cat has a litterbox she
sometimes urinates in the pots that have the houseplants in them.

Rub his nose in it and tap him gently on the nose.
I know most people do this with puppies, but it worked when my male cat was
a kitten ;-)
