I just got a couple of kittens to help with the rodent population on our
ranch. They are about 12 weeks old. Had them locked up in a travel trailer
for a few days, but now they are out and my 12-year-old chow-dingo wants to
harass them at every opportunity, so they are hiding under the trailer all
day. I got kittens because I thought the dog would tolerate them better
than full grown cats. I have scolded her for harassing them, and praised
and rewarded her for leaving them alone. Anyone have any ideas that might
work to build a friendship between canine and feline? Any idea about a time
frame when we can all enjoy some peace?
Any advice appreciated. Thanks and best wishes to all.

I had the same problem when I moved in with my girlfriend. My cat and
her two dogs ( Maltese and Chihuahua) didn't like each other and had
to be kept separated. It took about a year, but now the Chihuahua and
cat are best of friends, the Maltese is pretty laid back and does
whatever the chihuahua tells it to most of the time.
