No, that's someone who's trying to make a buck. When I save a kitter/cat, I keep
it until I find a good home for it and no charge at all.

I'm up in the High Mojave Desert in Rosamond.
Right now I've got one red tabby/white female I was able to save from a litter
that was dieing, I've worked to clear up her skin troubles, gave her shots and
groomed her. Once the area to one side of her mouth is healed I'll start look
for a new home for her, if I had a bigger place I'd keep her, she is a fun and
loving cat. Got to take some Photos of her too.

>Most people don't value something unless they pay for it. When adopting
out any animal, it's best to have at least a small charge to discourage lab
experimenters and pit bull baiters from getting their next victim. $150 is a
bit on the steep side, even for a shelter. We only charge $50. It's also
best to have some form of adoption contract and to ask for vet references.
You'd be surprised at the number of people who "love" animals and would give
them a "really good home" have had 6 cats in 3 years because they keep
getting run over or who have an unneutered chow mix that keeps killing them.
You're not really rescueing a cat from a bad life if you don't screen your
adoptors enough to know whether or not you're sending them to something
worse.
