My cat has recently been diagnosed with crystals the vet has prescribed
hills science diet  C/D-S.  My question is;  are there any other cat foods
or foods available that would have the same effect.  Our cat is dear to our
home however this C/D-S requires a prescription with a visit.  So 36.00 per
visit 24.00 for a urine analysis and 36.99 per bag / ever 2 months can get
costly.  Just need assistance.

Tim,

I have had two male cats over the last 10 years that had crystals.  The cat
can actually become so ill that it can die.  I was told that Iams and some
other top quality cat foods -- like Science Diet have the correct nutrition
so the cat can recover from this disease.  I actually have seen the high
quality food effect total recovery in two of my males.

Get on a search engine like Google.com, or any other, and search for "cat
food" or "specialized diet cat food"  You should then see many many sources
on the internet from which you can order, probably even the exact cat food
your vet prescribed, but probably for a lower price!  Just use your search
engine, and you will be amazed at the cat products you can order by using
the internet.
