Help
We have a 6 week kitten and she sometimes goes in the box but more than not
she'll go wherever...Getting to be a hassle and the rugs aren't as clean as
they were.
Any ideas beside putting their face to it and a whack in the face. She was
abandoned so never had a mother.
Thanks!

Lock her in a tiny space with no more room than just enough for her food
and water dishes, her sleepingthingy and her litter box. She wont go in
her food and drink or on her sleeping space, so there is no alternative
but to use the box.

Also make sure she has no dislike of how the box is arranged (filling,
with or without lit et cetera).

That will do no good. It will make her nervous about you when ever she has
to pee go.

Violence does not work against animals   If you put their nose in it all
they will do is know this is a good place to go
is she urinating or pooped outside the box.  If it is #2 is a different
color
if she is urinating  it might be several things including a UTI.  First
try the litter that has the cat attract ability
