Is it normal for a cat to lick its butt clean after pooping? Yes i guess that means they are licking up residual cat poop from their rear end. That seems a bit gross to me. I guess my question is do cats do that? Will it get sick? Do I need to be aware of any problems from this type of behavior? Do I need to worry? Thanks Since you're serious, and are really clueless about animals - how else are they supposed to clean it's butt after pooping? It's not like they can use toilet paper, not having opposable thumbs. So yes, cats (and dogs) lick their a.ses to rid themselves of residual sh.t. Occasionally, they will do the butt-scootin'-boogie and drag their a.s across the floor/carpet/grass to do the wiping, but not as often they will lick themselves clean. |
