Greetings!

I have two cats (4.5mo 3kg wonderful girls). In a few weeks I will
let them go outside, and since I am willing to be their servant but
not their slave I intend to install a cat door in the kitchen door.

Both the Staywell 400 (magnetic collar key) and the Staywell 500
series (radio collar key) look appealing to me.

I'd be interested in your experiences with these models.

Best regards,
-Roger

Personally I don't like any of my cats wearing a collar. They could hang
themselves...
Just a thought...

Agreed.

My cats have been microchipped. If there were a cat door that could read
the chip, I'd certainly go for that. Unfortunately this is not an available
product :-(

Now there's a project for all you budding scientists out there, design a
cat flap that can read microchips ;-)

Incidentally, I've found the collars with a breakaway section to be ok,
apart from the fact my cat keeps losing hers ;-) I do like her to wear a
collar where possible though, just in case someone does find her, as my
name and phone number are written on it and people can contact me direct
rather than having to go through the process of finding someone with a
scanner to read the chip.
