We have a small rug, about three feet by five feet which is placed under our
Pebbles (a Maine Coon Cat) litter box. Yesterday we decided to wash the
little rug. When the rug was placed in the dryer Pebbles tried desperately to
get into the laundry room. She laid on the floor and stuck her paws under the
door and tried to pry it open. This was interesting in that Pebbles had never
before shown any interest in the laundry room. I opened the door to the
laundry room and Pebbles immediately stood up against the dryer and pawed at
it. When the rug finished drying I removed it and again placed it under the
litter box. After I did that Pebbles showed no interest in either the laundry
room or the rug under the litter box.
Weird, if I must say!

Truly weird. She must be more attached to that rug than you thought.
Anyway, cats hate change, but this reaction is rather bizarre. Go pick
up the rug again and see what she does....
